Jamie Foxx Dishes on His Vision of Potential 'Django Unchained' Sequel

December 20, 2012 (9:41 am) GMT
'I would definitely be interested to see where Django and his wife go,' Foxx says of what he wants to see should there's a possible sequel for the spaghetti Western film.

In less than a week, "" will greet moviegoers as it opens Stateside on Christmas Day. Building the anticipation to the release of the spaghetti Western film, lead actor takes some time to promote the movie on Vanity Fair, where he discusses his vision if there's a chance to reprise his titular role in a possible sequel.

"I would definitely be interested to see where Django and his wife go," Foxx says of what he wants the sequel to be. "Or just other adventures. There's stories of John Brown, the abolitionist -maybe he runs into John Brown or Harriet Tubman."

"But he's definitely on the run up in the North, and down South there's 'Wanted' posters, but no one really knows what Django looks like. They only saw him for a second. So there could be a poster and it could look like Don Cheadle or something. You know what Im saying? But really I think Quentin outdid himself on this one. And it's really hard to say if there's a director out there who's doing it like he is right now."

"Django" is set in the South two years before the Civil War. It follows Foxx's titular character, a freed slave who, under the tutelage of a German bounty hunter King Schultz , becomes a bad-ass bounty hunter himself. After assisting Schultz in taking down some bad guys for profit, Django tracks down his slave wife and liberates her from an evil plantation owner Calvin Candie.
