Amidst the positive response for celebrities' effort to raise money to help victims of Superstorm Sandy, got mixed reactions over one of his jokes on stage. Many people were unimpressed when he seemed to downplay the devastation of the hurricane.

"This has got to be the largest collection of old English musicians ever assembled in Madison Square Garden," ' rocker said in between the song at the charity gig. "But if it rains in London, you've got to come help us, OK?"

Many others defended Jagger though with one saying that he just tried to encourage people to help each other. The rocker himself was oblivious to the criticism as he tweeted, "#121212concert had a great time at#madisonsquare really good crowd and wonderful atmosphere."

A source close to the English musician explained, "It was a joke. At this point, Mick is very thick-skinned. He cares a great deal about causes, and the last thing he would ever want to do is make fun of a disaster."
