AceShowbiz - New York's Madison Square Garden was filled with music Wednesday night, December 12 as rock and roll legends led a veritable "who's who" in entertainment industry to raise funds to help victims of superstorm Sandy. The Boss, Bruce Springsteen, opened the show with his hits "Land of Hope and Dreams", "Wrecking Ball", "My City of Ruins" and "Jersey Girl".

He was joined by friend and Bon Jovi's frontman Jon Bon Jovi for their mash-up of Springsteen's "Born to Run". Both Springsteen and Bon Jovi were from New Jersey, which, together with New York, was one of the areas badly hit by Sandy. Later on, Bon Jovi the group also played their hits "Wanted Dead or Alive" and "It's My Life".

Pink Floyd's Roger Waters performed some of the band's classics before collaborating with Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder for a rendition of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb". Rock and roll legends Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, The Who and Billy Joel were also on hand to perform for the crowd.

Other genres were not to be left behind. Alicia Keys played the new track "Brand New Me" from her newest album "Girl on Fire" and an old hit "No One", while Kanye West brought hip-hop to the stage with some of his hits which included "Golddigger" and "Stronger". Known for being a designer himself, he wore an attention-grabbing leather skirt while performing onstage.

Light moments were provided by comedians Billy Crystal, Jimmy Fallon, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart and Adam Sandler, who delivered a parody of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" singing "Sandy screw ya!, we'll get through ya!". Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey and Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York City were also in attendance, while Kristen Stewart made a surprise appearance.
