The Duke of Cambridge has canceled his royal engagement in London on December 9 to spend Sunday with his pregnant wife.

AceShowbiz - Kate Middleton is suffering a new bout of morning sickness. Prince William was supposed to attend British Military Tournament at Earl's Court in London on December 9, but he has canceled it to spend "Sunday privately with the Duchess instead."

"It is well known that hyperemesis gravidarum often recurs and, until further notice, to allow the Duchess a degree of privacy during her pregnancy, we do not intend to offer regular condition checks or advise of routine developments associated with it," a spokesperson says.

One day prior, the Duke of Cambridge addressed the Duchess' illness when coming to Winter Whites gala. "I don't know why they call it morning sickness. They should call it all day and all night sickness," he joked. "It's a long old process but she is getting there. She feels like it is going to go on forever."

In related news, two Australian radio DJs Mel Greig and Michael Christian, who made a prank call to King Edward VII Hospital while Kate was staying there, expressed their deep regret for what happened after a nurse, Jacintha Saldanha, who took their call was found dead in an apparent suicide.

"There's not a minute that goes by where we don't think about her family and what they must be going through and the thought we may have played a part in that is gut-wrenching," Mel told Channel Nine. "I've thought about this a million times in my head and I've wanted to just reach out to them [Ms Saldanha's family] and just give them a big hug and say 'sorry'. I hope they're OK, I really do."

In a separate interview, Michael said that he was "shattered, gutted, heartbroken and obviously you know... our deepest sympathies are with the family and the friends... I hope they [the family] get the love, the support, the care that they need."

"We thought a hundred people before us would've tried it, we thought it was such a silly idea and the accents were terrible and not for a second did we expect to speak to Kate let alone have a conversation with anyone at the hospital," Mel claimed.

"It was just the team sitting down before the show - just had the idea for just a simple harmless phone call," Michael said. "These prank calls are made every day, on every radio station in every country around the world and they have been for a long time and no-one could've imagined this to happen."

The family and friends of Jacintha's blamed the radio hosts for her death. "Because of them only it happened. That's what we think. We want an investigation about what happened to my friend," the friend told the New York Daily News, adding that Jacintha must have been devastated by the humiliation.
