WGA Awards 2013 TV Nominations: 'Breaking Bad' and 'Modern Family' Show Domination

Also grabbing multiple nominations are acclaimed shows 'Homeland', 'Mad Men', 'Girls', 'Parks and Recreation' and '30 Rock'.

AceShowbiz - Writers Guild of America has unveiled the nomination list for its 2013 awards show. Leading its way in the drama field is "Breaking Bad" which nabs five nods. The AMC series is vying for the coveted best drama series title and gets four other nods for individual episodes.

In the best drama series category, "Breaking Bad" is facing off "Boardwalk Empire", "Game of Thrones", "Homeland" and "Mad Men". The last two mentioned shows also land multiple nominations with two apiece.

"Modern Family", meanwhile, dominates the comedy field with four noms. In addition to the best comedy series nomination, the ABC show grabs three others in episodic comedy category.

"30 Rock", "Girls", "Louie" and "Parks and Recreation" will give "Modern Family" some tough competition in the best comedy series category. All of them, expect for "Girls", are once again pitted against one another in episodic comedy category.

"Girls", however, gets its second nod for new series, up against fellow rookie comedies "The Mindy Project" and "Veep" as well as fresh dramas "Nashville" and "The Newsroom".

Winners of the 2013 Writers Guild Awards will be announced Sunday, February 17 at simultaneous ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York. Nominees for the prime-time categories are available below, while the full list can be seen on the WGA official site.
