Satellite Awards 2012 Nominations in TV: 'Downton Abbey', 'Homeland' and More

'Abbey' leads the pack with four noms, facing off 'Homeland', 'Breaking Bad' and 'Game of Thrones' among others in drama series category.

International Press Academy's Satellite Awards has announced the nominations of its upcoming show. Leading in term of number is "" and "", which grab four noms apiece.

The British period drama series is up for best drama series title, fighting it off against other acclaimed shows such as "", "", "", "" and "". Rookie "" also earns a spot in this category.

"Abbey" receives another nomination through who is named a contender in best drama actress category alongside of "Homeland", of "Hit & Miss", and of "" as well as of "".

and Jim Carter are additionally nominated for supporting actress and supporting actor respectively in a Series, Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television.

Policital drama "Game Change" is vying for Miniseries/Motion Picture Made for Television against "", "", "Luther" and "" among others.

Its lead actress is facing off "Hemingway" leading lady , "" star , of "" and more for Actress in a Miniseries or a Motion Picture Made for Television award. The HBO TV movie also helps and get nominated for Actor and Actress in a Miniseries or a Motion Picture Made for Television.

The 17th annual Satellite Awards will take place at the Intercontinental Hotel in Century City. The prize-giving event will also hand out prizes for movies, DVD and video games in addition to presenting some special achievement awards, such as the Best Ensemble in Television for "The Walking Dead".
