The music promotion executive gets promoted as executive vice-president and general manager at RCA Records and will oversee music licensing and brand partnership.

AceShowbiz - Joe Riccitelli, a veteran music promotion executive, has been officially promoted as executive vice president/GM of RCA Records. The label announced the move on Wednesday, November 28 and said that Riccitelli would oversee music licensing and brand partnership. He recently held the position of EVP for promotions at RCA.

In addition to leading the company's music licensing and brand partnership concerns, Riccitelli will still continue to head the company's pop promotion team. He was put on RCA's promo seat in 2011 and has helped catapult the careers of Pink, Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, and Ke$ha.

For Tom Corson, RCA president and COO, Riccitelli is the perfect choice for the new position. "Joe has done such a tremendous job leading the way to success for many of our superstar and developing artists. Now is the time to widen his portfolio within the company and contribute his leadership to our licensing and brand partnership efforts on behalf of our unparalleled artist roster," he said.

In a statement, Riccitelli said, "Peter Edge and Tom Corson have done an amazing job of leading the premier team industry wide. We all share a common goal of being the top label in the business. The winning spirit of the company can be felt by everyone. I am truly excited to be a part of the bright future of this legendary label."

Riccitelli's impressive career as a music executive began back in 1985 at Polygram Records. He was the SVP for promotion for Island Label Group from 1995-1999. He later on went to Jive Records in February 1999 still with the same job description, which he held until 2007 before becoming EVP of promotion. In 2011, he got the Executive Vice President, Promotion position at RCA Records.
