Douglas Booth and Boyd Holbrook are also testing for the coveted part of Norman Osborn's son in the upcoming Marc Webb-directed Spidey film.

Apparently playing Harry Osborn in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" has become a promising career leap for some young actors. After Dane DeHaan, Alden Ehrenreich and Brady Corbet were reported to be in the running for the coveted part, it is now said that four other Hollywood hotties are racing to win the role which was previously made famous by James Franco in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man".

Courtesy of Heat Vision, "Snow White and the Huntsman" actor Sam Claflin, and "Les Miserables" thesp Eddie Redmayne were testing for the Harry Osborn part on Monday, November 19. Also in the mix reportedly were "Noah" star Douglas Booth and "The Host (2013)" actor Boyd Holbrook. Sony Pictures declined to comment on the audition report.

Just last week, "Chronicle" actor DeHaan, "Beautiful Creatures" thesp Ehrenreich and "Melancholia" star Corbet were said to be under consideration. However, multiple sources later claimed that the producers and filmmakers were actually looking for actors with characteristics that include "athleticism and good looks."

Harry Osborn is an integral part of the Spidey tale. Son of tycoon Norman Osborn, Harry was a best friend of Peter when they were in college. Following his father's death, Harry turned into the second Green Goblin and became one of Spider-Man's deadliest enemies. Director Marc Webb recently said, "I'm fascinated by Norman Osborn and the different inflections of him. And Harry. Mary Jane and Gwen are always interesting to me."

Whoever cast as Harry, he will join Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone who will reprise their roles as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy respectively. Shailene Woodley has been added to play Peter's other love interest Mary Jane Watson, while Jamie Foxx is reportedly courted to star as villainous Electro.

The sequel to this summer's "The Amazing Spider-Man" is slated for a May 2, 2014 release Stateside with Marc Webb returning as the director.
