A source says Ariel and Cameron Palatas had gone their separate ways several months before the 'Modern Family' actress got into a war with her mother.

AceShowbiz - Allegation that Ariel Winter and her boyfriend were caught in bed by her mom last month is reportedly not true. A source tells New York Daily News that the couple had broken up "way before" the mother-daughter duo was entangled in a family drama.

"They have been broken up for several months," the source dismisses the mother's claim. "It is really unfortunate Ariel's mom has drug Cameron through the mud here." The insider additionally insists, "Everything her mom has said has been untrue."

Responding to the denial, Ariel's mother Chrisoula Workman says, "Yes, I stand by (the police report)." She adds, "I can't say anything more. This is a very sad situation. Just pray for my family."

It is widely rumored that the boy is actor Cameron Palatas who stars in Disney's series "A.N.T. Farm". Ariel once acknowledged their relationship on Twitter, "Thank you to everyone who is supportive of me and @cameronpalatas. It really means a lot. Love y'all!"

Chris filed charges against him for "possible unlawful sex with minor." She explained, "Because legally he is an adult and if he wants to engage in adult behavior with a minor than he should also be ready to suffer adult consequences for his actions and poor judgment."

This came hot on heels of accusation against her that she abused Ariel, which she vehemently denied. She is ordered to stay 100 yards away from her teen daughter until further hearing scheduled for November 20. The 14-year-old star of "Modern Family" is temporarily placed under the care of her older sister, Shanelle Gray.

Ariel hasn't issued a statement about the matter, but her attorney insisted she's doing fine. "She has a lot of people who are loving her and supporting her at this time, and I'm pretty confident that she'll fare well through all of this," her lawyer said. "She is obviously a very smart and articulate young lady and an accomplished actress."

Shanelle is currently seeking to become Ariel's permanent guardian, but Chris scoffed at her daughter's effort. She accused Shanelle of using Ariel as a "stepping stone to further her own career as an actress." She's also concerned that Shanelle will drain Ariel's money. She says her younger daughter earns $75k per week from "Modern Family" alone.

"Over the past 14 years, I have seen Shanelle no more than 20 times, and Ariel has seen Shanelle no more than 14 times, if that. Additionally, I have never abused Ariel, and Shanelle's allegations of abuse are clearly fabricated as she has not had a relationship with either of us to know or assess me and Ariel's relationship."

Chris herself is accused of being overly-controlling toward Ariel. A source that worked on "The Chaperone", a movie where Ariel starred, claimed the mother made comments to the directors and writers, and bossed around on the set. The source, however, said she didn't seem to be abusive toward the teen star.

While Ariel's co-stars on "Modern Family" remained mum, Sterling Beaumon who became friend with Ariel after they worked together on Nintendo commercial a few years ago has weighed in on the real-life family drama. The actor approved of Shanelle's guardianship.

"Everything is good with her," he said of Ariel as quoted by TMZ. "She's in a much better situation now." He added, "I actually know her sister as well ... her sister is a wonderful girl, woman actually ... great person. " Of the abuse allegation, he said, "I can say that [Ariel is] not lying ... there's no reason for her to lie about something like this."
