'Vampire Diaries' 4.06 Preview: Elena Goes Mad, Katherine Returns

November 9, 2012, 8:38 am GMT

Elena is hallucinating and pushes everyone who wants to help her away, while Klaus tells Stefan that there's a consequence for killing a hunter.

When "The Vampire Diaries" returns with a new episode next week, Elena is "not in a good place." She sees terrifying hallucinations that leave her shaken and confused, but she won't let Stefan and Damon help her, causing her to make a dangerous mistake. She also sees Katherine, but it's not clear if it's real or just her hallucination.

Klaus, meanwhile, tells Stefan some very disturbing news about Elena, which has something to do with the consequence of killing a hunter, before he takes matters into his own hands. Teaming up with Stefan, Klaus also helps Jeremy begin a new chapter in his life.

Professor Shane reveals a story of ancient witchcraft to Damon and Bonnie. Finally, Elena makes a painful personal confession to Stefan, and Matt gives Damon startling new information about Professor Shane.

"We All Go a Little Mad Sometimes" will air Thursday, November 15 at 8/7c on The CW.
