'SNL' Parodied Press Conference for Hurricane Sandy
TV

Fred Armisen and Bobby Moynihan played impeccable Michael Bloomberg and Chris Christie respectively but they were outshined by their personal interpreters.

AceShowbiz - "Saturday Night Live" did not miss Hurricane Sandy in one of its sketches this weekend. A fake press conference was held by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, played by Fred Armisen, and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, played Bobby Moynihan. Each of them was accompanied by their personal signer for the hearing-impaired.

Armisen did a good imitation of a whiny Bloomberg but it was new "SNL" cast member Cecily Strong who impressed with her portrayal of Bloomberg's overly-expressive interpreter, Lydia Callis. Armisen then handed over the mic to Moynihan, who introduced his fictional interpreter, Roxy, played by Nasim Pedrad. Clearly lacking the skill in sign language, Roxy animated everything that Moynihan said.

The November 3 episode was hosted by comedian Louis C.K. He excelled in his opening monologue which was made as a stand-up act, complete with the hand-held mic. Louis then starred in a parody sketch of his FX show "Louie", playing Abraham Lincoln who is now a middle-aged stand-up in New York City. Lincoln had awkward interactions with a freed slave, played by Kenan Thompson, and his wife Mary Todd, played by new cast member Aidy Bryant.

Another presidential reference appeared on the Weekend Update when Jason Sudeikis reprised his Mitt Romney. This will be the last episode of "SNL" before the presidential election on Tuesday, November 6.
