After two years of losing, the 'There Goes My Baby' singer finally wins a bidding war at the Pencils of Promise Gala and brings home a new puppy.

AceShowbiz - Usher is all smiles as he has a new puppy. On October 25, the Grammy winner got the pooch in a charity auction taking place at the Pencils of Promise Gala in New York City. He initially bid $10,000 but later raised it to $12,000 when Jessica Szohr nearly stopped him by bidding $11,000, a little higher than his initial offer.

The event was to collect money and build schools for poor children in Laos, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Ghana. Usher had tried to take home a puppy from the auction since two years ago, but kept losing from other bidders. Luckily, he did not go home empty-handed this year.

"All in the name of feline fun! It took me 2 years but I outbid everyone this year to bring Poppy home to Ush," Usher tweeted his happiness. "Poppy (????) Raymond is what I'm think of namin' her...however there are two gregarious 3 and 4 year olds that will have the last say...and the responsibility that comes wit her."

Usher turned 34 on October 14. Few days ago, October 25, he celebrated his birthday with friends and posted a picture of him partying with a caption that read, "Thank you all for a wonderful birthday I won't forget it!" The RnB star got a surprise birthday gift, a custom made motorcycle, from Rico Love.
