AceShowbiz - How Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl's bestselling book "Beautiful Creatures" got adapted into the silver screen has been revealed in a new featurette for the movie. Showcasing fresh scenes that highlight beautiful Southern Gothic landscape, the promo video gives more behind-the-scene look at the film and how director Richard LaGravenese worked hard to make the adaptation.

Authoress Garcia and her partner Stohl are also seen praising every actor in the movie who took it seriously when bringing their characters to life. Alden Ehrenreich, Alice Englert, Jeremy Irons, Viola Davis, Emma Thompson and Emmy Rossum are all featured giving their testimony on working on the novel-adapted project.

"From the first time that I met [director] Richard, he had a real specific take on this material," Ehrenreich gushes, while Thompson says, "The script made me want to do the movie because it was just very well-developed." Englert, on the other hand, shares, "I've always loved supernatural stories, fantasy stories because I think that they were actually a great way of talking about reality."

A supernatural love story set in the South, "Beautiful Creatures" tells the tale of two star-crossed lovers: Ethan (Ehrenreich), a young man longing to escape his small town, and Lena (Englert), a mysterious new girl. Together, they uncover dark secrets about their respective families, their history and their town.

The young adult movie has been dubbed the next best thing after the "Twilight Saga" movie series since it was first announced in 2009. It is scheduled to arrive in theaters across the U.S. on February 13, 2013.
