Citing her and Clint Eastwood's tight schedule as the reason behind her departure, Queen Bey hopes that 'in the future we will get a chance to work together.'

AceShowbiz - Shortly after bailing out of Clint Eastwood's long-gestating drama "A Star Is Born", Beyonce Knowles took some time to explain the reason behind her sudden decision. Explaining that her exit had nothing to do with Eastwood's infamous "empty chair" speech at recent RNC, the Barack Obama supporter clarified that she decided to quit the project merely because of her and Eastwood's super-busy schedule.

"I was looking forward to the production of 'A Star Is Born' and the opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood," the wife of rap mogul Jay-Z confirmed to E! News. "For months we tried to coordinate our schedules to bring this remake to life but it was just not possible. Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to work together."

On the other hand, Eastwood also weighed in on the project following Bey's departure. Remaining tight lipped on who's going to replace the Grammy-winning songstress, the "Trouble with the Curve" actor said, "We've talked to several people, and we probably won't adress that one till next year. Early next year."

Previously, Variety shared the words that Eastwood was eyeing jazz artist Esperanza Spalding to replace the "Run the World (Girls)" singer as the female lead in "A Star Is Born". Still, multiple sources stressed that no offers would be made for any actresses until the project finds its male lead.

"A Star Is Born" will present an updated version of a romantic relationship between an alcoholic star on his way out and a young female artist on the rise. The project has actually been developed for sometime, but it fell apart before finally coming back together again in early 2011. Such actors as Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale and Will Smith were once rumored to be eyed for the male lead.
