AceShowbiz - Paul Schrader's sexual thriller "The Canyons" unleashes a new teaser trailer, which boasts steamy scenes involving Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen. The two are seen shooting a cheap-budgeted adult film in the retro-themed video that doesn't offer any dialogue. Lindsay shows up in sexy outfit as she is described as being "as sweet as sin," while James oozes masculinity in multiple shirtless scenes.
Major details of "The Canyons" plot are still kept under wraps. So far, the film is described as a contemporary L.A. noir about the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally, among a group of young people in their 20's. It sees how one chance that connects to the past unravels all of their lives, resulting in deceit, paranoia, cruel mind games and ultimately violence.
Lindsay stars as Tara, who is "addicted to a materialist lifestyle." James, meanwhile, tackles the part of Tara's boyfriend Christian, a "manipulative trust-fund kid with dreams of making a movie." They are joined by Nolan Gerard Funk, Amanda Brooks, Lauren Schacher, Tenille Houston and Jim Boeven. The script is written by Bret Easton Ellis.
Producer Braxton Pope once explained why he cast Lindsay for the film despite the fact that she's notoriously known for her troubled personal life. "What's kind of lost in a lot of the Lindsay discussions is the fact that Lindsay is a very talented actress," he gushed. "She's very charismatic and she has a lot of acting skills."
"So her lifestyle and some of the things that she's gone through have tended to kind of overwhelm the fact, but Lindsay has kind of real talent," he added. "So for this part, we felt that she was really the right actor for a host of different reasons."
