Denying the swirling rumors that Depp will team up with him for his next project, the 'Moonrise Kingdom' helmer clarifies that it is Bill Murray who will star in his upcoming film.

AceShowbiz - Back in July, Johnny Depp grabbed the headline as he was rumored to be cast in Wes Anderson's new movie "The Grand Budapest Hotel". While many fans were excited that the two would team up in a film, the "Moonrise Kingdom" director himself clarified that there was no truth in Depp's casting report in his next project.
"It's not Johnny Depp," the Texan filmmaker told Huffington Post when asked if the "Dark Shadows" star would be his next collaborator. "No. There's a lot of... You know, the Internet has a way of announcing things on its own [laughs]. You will find that even though I'm very aware of the cast that has been announced on its own devices, you'll never find me saying who's in the movie."
He claimed, "Or, as far as I know, anybody else. I really don't know where it all comes from." Still, the Oscar nominee pointed out, "In fact, Johnny is somebody who I would love to work with at some point, but he's not going to be in this movie. But I actually have not put the cast out - I have not announced the cast. We have quite a great cast."
Rumors suggesting Depp's involvement in "The Grand Budapest Hotel" were first sparked by Deadline, which said that the frequent collaborator of Tim Burton would likely jump into Anderson's film after wrapping "The Lone Ranger". Anderson himself would provide the script in addition to serving behind the lens.
After clarifying that Depp wouldn't star in his upcoming film, Anderson did confirm that it was Bill Murray who was locked for his new pic. "That's true. That's true. Bill is in it. Bill is in it," he stated. Urged further about details of the anticipated project, the 43-year-old director said nothing but, "It's 'Euro'. That's about all I've been saying."
Anderson has lately been stealing attention and becoming a critics' darling through his highly-praised work on "Moonrise Kingdom". The critically-acclaimed 1960s-set drama successfully scored more than $60 million domestically, which was a massive result for an indie movie. He had previously hinted that his next film would be a European-set pic with a number of high-profile actors starring in it.
