Despite canceling nine scheduled performances Down Under, the 'Faith' singer plans to complete his U.K. tour dates before seeking treatment for 'major anxiety.'

AceShowbiz - George Michael has axed his Australian tour due to "major anxiety." The former "Wham!" star announced on Saturday, September 29 that he wouldn't perform at nine scheduled dates Down Under as he has suffered a trauma since he was treated for a life-threatening case of pneumonia in November 2011.
"By way of explanation all I can say at this time is that since last year's illness I have tried in vain to work my way through the trauma that the doctors who saved my life warned me I would experience," so the British musician wrote on his official website. "They recommended complete rest and the type of post traumatic counselling which is available in cases like mine."
He added, "Unfortunately I seriously underestimated how difficult this year would be and although I was right to believe that the shows would bring me great happiness and that my voice would recover completely... I was wrong to think I could work my way through the major anxiety that has plagued me since I left Austria last December."
The "Fastlove" hitmaker went on making an apology to his "wonderful Australian fan base," before informing that all tickets would be refunded by October 12. Despite canceling the Australian tour, the 49-year-old singer still plans to complete his U.K. tour before getting the treatment "which is so long overdue."
