The 'Who Says' singer will reprise her role as Alex Russo in the telepic, which will begin filming in October in Los Angeles.

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez isn't done playing Alex Russo, months after "Wizards of Waverly Place" ended its run on Disney Channel. The actress/singer will reprise her role in a new TV movie which she will also executive produce alongside Vince Cheung, Ben Montanio, Dan Cross and David Hoge.

The girlfriend of Justin Bieber will reunite with co-stars Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals Barrera, David DeLuise and Gregg Sulkin for the one-hour special. Victor Gonzalez is on board to direct with the script provided by Cheung and Montanio. The telepic is slated to kick off the principal photography in October in Los Angeles for a 2013 premiere.

The upcoming TV movie follows the Russo family and friends as they travel the Tuscany, Italy to meet their long lost relatives. During their trip, Alex inadvertently conjures a spell that creates a "good" Alex and "evil" Alex. Alex must find a way to save her family and humankind when the two versions of herself fight atop the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

"With the phenomenal ratings of the 'Wizards' finale earlier this year, it became clear that fans of the series were not ready to say goodbye to Selena or the rest of the 'Wizards' cast," says Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide. "As such, we're thrilled that the cast has agreed to reunite to bring their fans one last grand adventure."

"Wizards of Waverly Place" originally aired from October 2007 to January 2012 and won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Children's Program. In 2009, Disney Channel aired "Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie" which also earned an Emmy Award.
