Primetime Emmys 2012: 'Homeland' and 'Modern Family' Lead Full Winner List

Being named the best drama and comedy respectively, the Showtime series and the ABC show join 'Game Change' to take home four trophies each at this year's ceremony.

AceShowbiz - "Homeland", "Modern Family" and "Game Change" were big winners at the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. As the event wrapped up on Sunday, September 23 night, each of these shows bagged four kudos.

"Homeland" snatched the coveted Outstanding Drama, winning over "Boardwalk Empire", "Breaking Bad", "Downton Abbey", "Mad Men" and "Game of Thrones". The thriller series also paired up the Outstanding Actor and Actress in a Drama prizes, which were given to Damian Lewis and Claire Danes respectively.

The other award claimed by the Showtime series was Outstanding Writing in a Drama to recognize the works of Alex Gansa, Howard Gordon and Gideon Raff.

"Modern Family", meanwhile, led other shows in comedy categories, winning the coveted Outstanding Comedy. Eric Stonestreet and Julie Bowen grabbed the Supporting Actor and Actress prizes respectively, while Steven Levitan won a directing award for the last episode of season 3, "Baby on Board".

"Game Change" was chosen as the Outstanding Movie or Miniseries, while its star Julianne Moore was named Outstanding Actress. The HBO telepic also won in directing (Jay Roach) and writing (Danny Strong) categories.

Another multiple winner at the prize-giving event was "Hatfields & McCoys". Kevin Costner, who portrayed Devil Anse Hatfield, was honored with the Outstanding Lead Actor prize, while his co-star Tom Berenger won the Outstanding Supporting Actor trophy.

"Boardwalk Empire", "Downton Abbey", "Two and a Half Men", "Veep" "American Horror Story", "The Amazing Race" and "Dancing with the Stars" were among other winners at the show. Meanwhile, "Mad Men" which got the most nominations went home empty handed.
