First 20 Minutes of 'Homeland' Season 2 Debuted Online

The lengthy preview opens with some key moments from the previous season before showing what Carrie has been doing after she underwent electric shock therapy.

The first 20 minutes of "" season 2 premiere episode have been made available online ahead of the show's return on Showtime. It offers a catch-up to the first season by including some scenes from the first season, before featuring Carrie who spends most of her time tending her garden and teaching ESL to Arabic speakers.

No matter how hard she tries to avoid the stress of hunting terrorist, it's not long before she is dragged back into the risky job. Brody's political career is also highlighted in the video as he now becomes a sitting congressman in the House of Representatives.

"She's in a better place. She's sort of stabilized, and cocooned herself at her sister's house, who's looking after her," dished on what happened to her character after undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder. "She's gone through a full course of therapy and she's taken more responsibility for her condition and really committed herself to being well."

The Golden Globe-winning actress went on telling The Hollywood Reporter, "And then of course, just as she's managing that, she gets the call, and that is ruptured, that relative health. And she goes, fairly begrudgingly, and then gets intoxicated again, and realizes that she's going to have to find a way to reconcile her bipolar condition with her love for her work."

To see the first episode in full, fans should wait until Sunday, September 30 when the second season premieres at 10 P.M. ET/PT on Showtime.
