Confirming that she didn't pledge support for Mitt Romney, the 'Starship' rapstress tweets, 'Thank you for understanding my creative humor & sarcasm Mr. President, the smart ones always do.'

AceShowbiz - Nicki Minaj was grateful that Barack Obama, unlike some people, didn't jump into conclusion by suggesting that she supported Mitt Romney after she rapped about voting for the Republican Presidential candidate. The femcee thanked Mr. President on Twitter for that.

Minaj raised question about her political preference due to her verses, "I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney, you lazy b****es is f***ing up the economy." When asked to comment about the song, Obama told Orlando radio station, Power 953, "I'm not sure that's actually what happened."

While some saw it as a Republican endorsement, the commander-in-chief thought otherwise. "I think she had a song on there, a little rap that said that, but she likes to play different characters," he explained, pointing out her alter ego. "So I don't know what's going on there."

Minaj quickly responded to Obama's comment, "Ha! Thank you for understanding my creative humor & sarcasm Mr. President, the smart ones always do... *sends love & support*. Awesome! Now I can tell my grandchildren that the 1st black President of the United States took the time to address a Nicki Minaj question."

Minaj got political in Lil Wayne's "Mercy" that's included in "Dedication 4" mixtape. The song was produced by a Democrat big supporter Kanye West.
