Simon Cowell reveals that the 'Hold It Against Me' hitmaker did consider to quit after walking off an audition taping on the first day of production because of experiencing a panic attack.

AceShowbiz - "The X Factor (US)" executive producer and judge, Simon Cowell, confirmed to TMZ that the rumors suggesting Britney Spears almost gave up after walking off the set during the very first day of production at the Roman Coliseum was true. He said they had to "half-lie" to protect the show.

"No one is going to admit that on the first day your highest paid star after 20 minutes has walked off set," the former "American Idol" judge said. He claimed Britney was not sure about what she was doing and kept asking him if she could do "this," pertaining to her $15 million project, to which he answered yes.

Prior to Simon's statement, the 30-year-old pop superstar herself has already revealed in a separate interview that she indeed had a series of panic attacks and that she was extremely nervous at first. She later admitted she's comfortable on the set now.

In line to her admission, Simon said that the mom of two kept blossoming week after week when doing her "X-Factor" gig. "I think she's going to be good for the show, and I think the show is going to be good for her," the TV producer stated.

Simon also discussed his sentiments about "The Voice" being extended to a three-day broadcast, which will overlap with the premiere episode of his show. He called Mark Burnett, executive producer of "The Voice", stupid and disrespectful not only to him but also to the audience.

He was also thinking of making another promo with tagline, " 'The X-Factor', the show 'The Voice' does not want you to see." The second season of "The X Factor" will air on Wednesday, September 12 on FOX. Simon will serve as a judge along with Britney, L.A. Reid and Demi Lovato.
