TV

The latest TV project, which is still in early stages, is aimed to focus on the superheroine's origin story.

AceShowbiz - Warner Bros. TV is making another attempt to bring Wonder Woman to small screen. The studio is currently in early stages of developing a new series focusing on the DC Comics superheroine for The CW under the working title "Amazon".

First reported by Vulture before The Hollywood Reporter confirms it, the latest Wonder Woman TV project will focus on the origin story of Diana of Themyscira and her alter ego. Thus, instead of presenting her as a fully formed defender of liberty, the show will feature her as a young, budding superhero.

Allan Heinberg, who has been a writer on "Sex and the City", "Gilmore Girls", "The O.C." and "Grey's Anatomy" among many others, is being tapped to write the script. However, it should be noted that no pilot order has been given to the project.

The previous take on Wonder Woman was written by David E. Kelley and was picked up to pilot by NBC. However, after the pilot was filmed with Adrianne Palicki tackling the titular role, the Peacock passed on it.
