AceShowbiz - The production team behind "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie has yet to say anything about who are the candidates to play Christian and Ana. However, rumor has run wild that adult film star James Deen is in the mix to tackle the male lead part in the film adaptation of E.L. James' steamy novel.
The report was first sparked by writer Bret Easton Ellis, who worked with Deen and Lindsay Lohan in "The Canyons". He recently took to his Twitter to share, "Just got inside information that James Deen is actually in the running to play Christian in 'Fifty Shades of Grey' with E.L. James support."
Ellis followed it up with, " 'Fifty Shades of Grey' will be budgeted at 12-15 million and James Deen is on the list of actors to play Christian Grey according to source." No official words were released to clarify the report, but Ellis noted that the part of Ana would likely be tackled by an unknown.
"Fifty Shades of Grey movie will DEFINITELY be written by a woman and the budget will be below 15 million. Ana will be played by an unknown," so he wrote in one of his "Fifty Shades of Grey" tweets.
Christian Grey has become one of the most coveted roles in Hollywood since the novel-adapted project was announced for the first time. A number of actors, including Ian Somerhalder and Ryan Gosling, were previously rumored to be circling the much-talked-about part.
As for Deen, the actor himself refused to comment further on his casting rumor. "As far as 'Fifty Shades,' I have no comment at this time, other than I would love to be involved and hope I could get considered for the role," so he vaguely said to MTV News when asked to confirm the report.
"Fifty Shades of Grey", which is included in the New York Times bestseller list, centers on a 21-year-old college student Anastasia, who has an S&M relationship with a wealthy entrepreneur named Christian. Their relationship deepens in the book's sequels, "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed".
