Possible Details of Tony Stark's Mark XLVII Suit in 'Iron Man 3' Revealed
Movie

The new red-gold armor which was shown at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con reportedly won't be Stark's eighth suit as fans presumed before.

AceShowbiz - It has been already known that Tony Stark will have a new armor in "Iron Man 3" since Marvel uncovered the design of Stark's latest red-gold suit at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con. However, details of the said suit remained scarce until Latino Review shares the words that the previously revealed armor was actually MACH XLVII (47) and not the eighth suit (Mark VIII) as some fans may have thought it was.

The site, which often shares spoilers on blockbuster films, also unveils a scene description related to the new suit and details on what Stark can do with it. It is said that [SPOILER ALERT!] the Extremis-enhanced bad guys who work for The Mandarin are going to be "too much for Tony to handle on his own." As a result, the protagonist changes his game and goes with a new big plan.

Tony is about to fight those bad guys when he mentions the Mark XLVII to his assistant Pepper Potts. When she asks what happened to the other forty, the eccentric billionaire "just smiles." Furthermore, it is said that Tony will be able to "control multiple armors in battle" from the cockpit of Mark XLVII. Thus, he basically has the the other armors on his side to fight against the Extremis mercenaries.

"Iron Man 3" still hasn't unveiled its official plot. However, the story will be loosely based on Warren Ellis' six-issue "Extremis" comic book series, which presents a new origin story that focuses on nanotechnology. Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Stark a.k.a Iron Man, with Gwyneth Paltrow returning as Pepper, and Ben Kingsley tackling the part of the Mandarin.

The third "Iron Man" movie is directed by Shane Black and will be released Stateside on May 3, 2013.
