The 'Breaking Bad' actor will play a 'friend' of O'Hara's character, who is the mother of Jack McBrayer's Kenneth.

AceShowbiz - After stepping behind the lens for an episode of "The Office", Bryan Cranston will visit the set of another NBC show in a different role. The former "Malcolm in the Middle" star has nabbed a guest starring role on "30 Rock".

Cranston will appear in an episode of the sitcom's upcoming season along with another guest star Catherine O'Hara, who is cast as Kenneth's (Jack McBrayer) mother. The Emmy-winning actor, meanwhile, will portray her "friend" named Ron.

"30 Rock" will return with its abbreviated seventh and final season Thursday, October 4 at 8 P.M. on NBC. In addition to introducing Kenneth's family, the show would see Kenneth and Hazel (Kristen Schaal) engaging in a "non-sexual boyfriend-girlfriend thing," Tina Fey recently said.

Cranston is still headlining AMC's "Breaking Bad" in which he takes the lead role of Walter White. As for O'Hara, the actress, who is known in such films as "Home Alone" and "The Nightmare Before Christmas 3-D", lends her voice in Tim Burton's upcoming animated horror film "Frankenweenie".
