AceShowbiz - Three in-demand Hollywood hunks are ready to team up in a movie about animal trafficking. They are none other than Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Tom Hardy. The Hollywood Reporter has the words that the A-list trio is set to produce a drama about anti-poaching fighters in South Africa.
The idea first came from Hardy, who wanted to make a "Traffic"-esque drama. The Bane of "The Dark Knight Rises" was reportedly inspired by his friends who served as Special Forces operatives and went on to support the anti-poaching movements in South Africa and some other nations.
The trio's untitled animal poach project is set to be developed at Warner Bros. Pictures, and is currently looking for a screenwriter. The three reportedly wanted to make the film in the vein of "Traffic", Steven Soderbergh's 2000 movie about the war on drugs. It was said that the story "would look at everything from the ground war on poachers in the African savanna to how animal material ends up in the fashion houses of Paris."
The movie still hasn't tapped its director, and it is also still unclear whether or not DiCaprio, Maguire and Hardy would star in it. This would mark DiCaprio's reunion with Hardy after they starred together in "Inception". The "Titanic" actor will also be seen starring opposite Maguire in "The Great Gatsby", which will open Stateside in the summer of 2013.
Longtime animal-rights activist, DiCaprio recently served as the spokesman for the International Fund for Animal Welfare to support their campaign to protect elephants. Hardy, meanwhile, has become one of Warners' favorite actors following his performance in "The Dark Knight Rises". He recently produced some feature films, including an untitled film about biker for the studio.
