The Canadian jazz singer wows the audience by dedicating a song to the late astronaut during her Hollywood bowl concert.

AceShowbiz - During her Hollywood bowl solo concert, jazz singer and pianist Diana Krall paid tribute to the late Neil Armstrong, the first man to step on the moon. She rendered a sweet gentle revision of classical song "Fly Me to the Moon", originally recorded in 1965 by German singer Heidi Bruhl.

Diana gazed up into the sky at her outdoor amphitheater gig to refer to the astronaut's reaction "Do I have to listen to that song again?" The jazz singer proudly admitted that she once had the opportunity to share a glass of wine with the legendary first man on the moon.

Aside from dedicating a song to Neil Armstrong and sending her love for the Armstrong family, she paid homage to her equally-talented husband Elvis Costello. She altered the lyrics of "I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face" to "His Face".

Diana said she performed the song to celebrate Elvis' 58th birthday on August 25. As she closed the event conducted by jazz man Alan broadbent of Los Angeles Philharmonic, the jazz diva said, "Happy Birthday EC."

Diana Krall is currently preparing her upcoming album "Glad Rag Doll" that features primarily tunes composed in the 1920s and '30s. One of the songs "Just Like a Butterfly That's Caught in the Rain" is a classic song written in the late 1920s and recorded originally by Annette Hanshaw in 1927.

"If there was an era to which I could choose to go back in time, it would be the 1920s, just because of the whole wildness of it all," she explained.
