The 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra' actor is set to play the strongest Dark Elves of Svartalfheim who is coerced by Malekith to fight the God of Thunder.

AceShowbiz - "Thor: The Dark World" has added another supervillain. After Christopher Eccleston was cast as Malekith the Accursed, The Hollywood Reporter now shares the news that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has been locked to play Algrim the Strong.

While Malekith is known as the ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim in Marvel Universe, Algrim (also known as Kurse) is described as one of the strongest Dark Elves. He is coerced by Malekith to fight Thor, but the Elves ruler later betrays him.

To be helmed by Alan Taylor, the sequel to "Thor" will bring back Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings and Anthony Hopkins to the cast ensemble. The film is scheduled to open in the U.S. on November 15, 2013.

Official details about the second God of Thunder film are still scarce, but it has been rumored that the flick will involve the Dark Elves as it is planned to be shot in London tunnels. In Marvel comics, the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim are living in caverns and underground places.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje is best known for his role as Heavy Duty in "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra". He has also starred in a number of actioners such as "The Bourne Identity" and "Killer Elite". His other next films include Sylvester Stallone-starring "Bullet to the Head".
