An earlier report that Scott committed suicide due to inoperable brain tumor is denied by the 68-year-old filmmaker's family.

AceShowbiz - The reason director Tony Scott ended his own life is still a mystery as the report that he was suffering from a brain damage was squashed. The "Top Gun" director's family has told Chief Coroner Craig Harvey via LA Times that "it is incorrect that he has inoperable brain cancer".
Report of the deadly disease first came from ABC News, which has now changed the headline of the original story to "Tony Scott Brain Cancer Report Appears in Doubt". The revised story quoted L.A. County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter as saying that the family was not aware that Scott had cancer.
However, ABC News has not been able to reach out the 68-year-old filmmaker's family and Winter could not confirm cancer diagnosis. Winter noted that examination on Scott's brain on the ongoing autopsy is not yet completed.
Scott, who jumped from the highest peak of L.A. Bridge on Sunday, August 19, left behind a wife and twin sons.
