Rihanna Was Concerned of Chris Brown After 2009 Attack

As much as she was hurt from the beatings he laid upon her, Rihanna thought Brown deserved to get help.

AceShowbiz - Rihanna confessed in an intimate interview with Oprah Winfrey that she felt rather concerned of Chris Brown than angry. The Barbadian singer was afraid that people would see him as a monster after he attacked her in February 2009.

"It was a weird, confusing space to be in," Rihanna said in between tears, "because as angry as I was, as angry and hurt and betrayed, I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help ... and who's going to help him?"

Saying the incident was embarrassing and humiliating, Rihanna can't help but to take pity of Brown. "Nobody's going to say he needs help. Everybody's going to say he's a monster without looking at the source ... and I was more concerned about him," she said, adding "I lost my best friend ... everything I knew switched ... switched in a night and I couldn't control that."

The interview will air on Sunday, August 19 on Winfrey's OWN.
