Christine Lahti will make her debut as Doris, who was presumed dead for 20 years, in the third season premiere.

AceShowbiz - A first look at Steve McGarrett's reunion with his mother Doris on "Hawaii Five-0" has been previewed in a form of picture. Making its way out via TV Guide, the photo shows Alex O'Loughlin's alter ego and Christine Lahti as McGarrett's mother, who was presumed dead for 20 years.

Explaining her character's reason to fake her own death, Lahti says, "She faked her own death to protect her family." She adds about her reappearance, "Now she's come back and Steve is shell-shocked. She hasn't seen Steve since he was 15 and wants his forgiveness."

Lahti has been booked to appear in at least four episodes, starting in the season 3 opener. In those outings, it will be revealed where Doris has been all this time and whether she can be trusted. She will be seen in danger as executive producer Peter Lenkov teases, "Wo Fat wants Doris dead, and a man like that is hard to keep behind bars."

The family reunion will be complete with Taryn Manning's return as McGarrett's sister Mary Ann in an episode. She and her brother will reportedly have a lot of questions for their mother.

The third season of "Hawaii Five-0" will kick off Monday, September 24 at 8 P.M. on CBS.
