Police Will Prosecute Miley Cyrus' Prank Caller

Someone made a false report of home invasion at Cyrus' Los Angeles house and forced the LAPD to take serious action that could have hurt someone.

AceShowbiz - Authorities are tracking the caller who made a "swatting" prank to Miley Cyrus' house in Los Angeles. Since making a false call to 911 is considered a misdemeanor, the prank caller will be prosecuted and could face felony charges as well as up to three years in jail.

Someone called 911 on Wednesday, August 1 night to inform that a kidnapping was happening inside Cyrus' house. The caller also said that one person was shot. LAPD responded quickly by swarming the house with guns drawn and sending a chopper to the scene to set up a perimeter. Turns out, the house was empty.

Authorities then believed that the actress may have been a victim of "swatting" prank where an anonymous caller makes a false report of a crime in progress. This is particularly dangerous because an innocent people could get hurt if someone was in that house that night.

Police said that they are tracking the caller and will take serious action against him/her.
