Admitting she feels unwell, the 'Good Morning America' co-host leaves the show in the mid of the July 31 broadcast to get some vacation before undergoing a bone marrow transplant.

AceShowbiz - Robin Roberts has taken time off from "Good Morning America" earlier than it was planned. The former ESPN reporter left the show in the mid of the Tuesday, July 31 broadcast as telling viewers, "Well, a full disclosure here, I'm not feeling too well."

"In fact, I'm going to leave, and let you all do the rest of the program on your own," she continued her announcement. "I'm going to take a little time off, just to get some vacay. I'll see you in a couple of weeks."

Before leaving the show at 8:08 A.M., Roberts was still able to make a joke about herself while co-hosting with Josh Elliott. "I can't talk on this side of my mouth," she said of her having trouble pronouncing a word.

"We're going to miss you, but we do appreciate the Jimmy Cagney impersonation before you leave," Elliott enthused. Weather anchor Sam Champion later sent his message to Roberts as well, "Our Robin Roberts, we love you. Get a little rest. Take a week off, take two, then come back."

Roberts announced at the TCA conference earlier in July that she would take a medical leave from "GMA" starting at the end of August or early September. The breast cancer survivor will undergo a bone marrow transplant to treat myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), which was a complication from her treatment for breast cancer.

During her absence, Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric and Kelly Ripa will fill in her shoes and join George Stephanopoulos in co-hosting the ABC morning program.
