Matchbox 20 Get Bullied in 'She's So Mean' Video

A mean girl sends sparks flying in this crazy new video for the comeback song of the Rob Thomas-fronted band.

AceShowbiz - The men of Matchbox 20 are finally back with a new single and new music video to match. They perform a song about not getting enough of a girl despite her bad attitude in the visuals for "She's So Mean".

A sexy brunette in boots runs around the band in this video, bullying them constantly. She tips over vocalist Rob Thomas' mic before she walks off and sneakily steals Brian Yale's bass. She taunts him with it before smashing it onto the wall.

In a studio, she also hurls vinyl records straight at them, smashing some in the process. She yanks out the wires from a fuse box and walks off to splash coffee on the sound mixers. In her final feat of ruckus, she tosses a match which sets the drum on fire. She then leaves the band with the mess while laughing as the frontman watches her walking away.

"The lyrics came with the melody. It's really about wanting something that's not good for you. We put it in the package of a guy wanting a girl who's not nice to him," said guitarist Paul Doucette of the track in an interview with ARTISTdirect. "The song is actually about wanting things that are bad for you, not knowing they're bad for you, and saying, 'I still want it'."

"She's So Mean" is a track from the band's upcoming album, "North". In the same interview, Doucette talked about the album as saying, "There's not necessarily a concept. We didn't have anything like that. It has a little bit of everything we feel are our strengths." The new record drops Stateside on September 4.
