After Christopher Nolan wrapped his highly-praised Batman trilogy, some people doubted that there would be another filmmaker that could best Nolan's gritty adaptation on the Caped Crusader tale. However, the "" director himself believed that the film would somehow be rebooted someday and for that, he has shared some tips for his successor.

Speaking to Empire magazine, Nolan opened up the key behind his big success on adapting the Batman story. "The only advice I would have is... when I first met with Paul Levitz of DC prior to '', he explained to me very clearly that Batman, of all superheroes, has thrived on reinterpretation and almost being strengthened by it," he said.

"I'm talking obviously about over the years in the comic books but then also through the movies," Nolan added. "So when the time is right, when somebody does whatever the next iteration of the character is, they simply need to be true to what they really want to see, do something they believe in, not worry too much about what everyone else is telling them it should be."

Amid the Aurora shooting tragedy that happened during its midnight screening, Nolan's final Batman film "" has scored a massive $160.9 million on its debut weekend on box office. The walloping result marked the third-biggest debut of all time and the best ever for a non-3D movie.
