Report: 'X-Men: First Class' Sequel Gets Official New Title

Rumor has it, the sequel to the Jennifer Lawrence-starring hit Marvel movie will now be called 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'.

AceShowbiz - Shortly after Marvel Studios announced the official titles for the sequels to "Thor" and "Captain America: The First Avenger", it is now rumored that the "X-Men: First Class" sequel also gets its own official title. It is said that the upcoming mutant heroes film will be called "X-Men: Days of Future Past".

The report first emerged via Russian site Film Business Today. However, it was not explained as to why the upcoming sequel was named "Days of Future Past". 20th Century Fox, which develops the franchise, also hasn't confirmed the validity of the new title rumor.

Details of the "X-Men: First Class" sequel are still kept secret. Matthew Vaughn has been tapped to tackle the directing duty, with the script written by Simon Kinberg, who also wrote "X-Men: The Last Stand" and "First Class".

The production is set to begin in January 2013 after its leading actress Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Mystique, finished the filming of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire". The sequel has been slated for a July 18, 2014 U.S. release.

In additon to Lawrence, the original "X-Men: First Class" starred Michael Fassbender as Magneto, James McAvoy as Professor X, Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw, January Jones as Emma Frost, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, and Nicholas Hoult as Beast.
