Jason Blum, who executive produced 'The River' that featured a similar style, teams up with Naomi Despres to produce the new 'found-footage mystery' project.

AceShowbiz - Although "The River" failed to capitalize on the success of "Paranormal Activity" by adapting the found-footage style, it doesn't stop MTV from developing another project with the same format. Jason Blum, who was among the producers of "Paranormal Activity", is working on the new drama pilot called "The Experiment" for the network.

Blum, who was also one of the co-executive producers for the short-lived ABC series "The River", is joined by Naomi Despres ("The English Teacher") as the executive producers of the so-called "found-footage mystery" project. Brian Horiuchi ("Terminal D") and Miguel Sapochnik ("House M.D."), meanwhile, provide the story with the latter being attached to direct.

Other details of the project are still unclear. Should the project get a series order from MTV, it will join the growing list of the network's scripted shows. The cable channel has ordered a third season of "Teen Wolf" which will consist of 24 episodes, and recently renewed "Awkward" for a 20-episode third season.
