The veteran rockers were joined by Darryl 'DMC' McDaniel on stage in New Jersey to recreate their classic hit 'Walk This Way'.

were in New Jersey on Tuesday night, July 24 playing a sold-out show. The audience members were surprised when Darryl "DMC" McDaniels appeared on stage to join the rock band in performing the classic hit "Walk This Way".

They performed one of the very first rap-rock hits in perfect timing with each other. McDaniels delivered his lines completely in sync with the music. Unfortunately, his bandmate, Joseph "Run" Simmons, was not part of the recreation of the 1986 hit.

They hugged each other at the end of the song and said, "That's a little bit of history right there," as McDaniels left the stage.

The history-making track was a cut from Aerosmith's 1975 album "". Years later in 1986, covered the song. This revived the careers of the rock stars and helped catapult the rap group in the music scene.

The music video for the song released in 1986 turned the separation of the genres into a literal visual. Frontman Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry were on one side of the wall while the rappers were on the other side. Eventually, Tyler broke the wall down and the two groups perform together, symbolically breaking down the barrier between rap and rock.

Aerosmith are currently doing a Live Nation promoted-Global Warming tour. They kicked off the series of shows on June 16, way ahead of Tyler's announcement that he would be leaving "". They have also just released a music video for the track "Legendary Child". Their upcoming album, "", drops in the U.S. on November 6.

Run DMC will also be reuniting for the Fun Fun Fun Fest happening from November 2 to 4 in Austin, Texas.
