The filming on the sci-fi show's final season has been pushed back until early August as the actor, who plays Walter Bishop, gets treatment for sleep disorder.

AceShowbiz - While "Modern Family" cast are expected to return to work this week amid the contract dispute, "Fringe" actors will get a few days of extra summer vacation. Various sources say the production on the fifth and final season of the FOX show is shut down for two weeks as star John Noble seeks treatment for sleep disorder.

The filming was put on hold since Tuesday, July 24 after just four days of filming. One day earlier, showrunner J.H. Wyman explained that Noble, who didn't show up for the "Fringe" panel at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour, was "under the weather." A source additionally said that the delay was impacted by Jasika Nicole's recent fender bender.

At that time, the delay was planned to be only three days with the production being expected to resume in early next week. However, producers have now decided to halt the production for two weeks due to Noble's illness and plan to resume the filming on August 7.

Despite the extended delay, "Fringe" season 5 is still expected to premiere as scheduled on Friday, September 28.

Noble, who portrays the father of Joshua Jackson's Peter Bishop on the J. J. Abrams-created series, has reportedly had the condition for a while. His illness got worsened by his intense schedule, in which he had to fly from his homeland Australia to attend San Diego Comic-Con and then began the production on the show in Canada.
