It so happens that one of the scenes in 'Gangster Squad' shows several shooters firing into a movie theater audience.

AceShowbiz - "The Dark Knight Rises" massacre has profound effect on the movie industry as well. Warner Bros has taken quick decisions to pull the trailer for "Gangster Squad" from theaters and cancel the "Dark Knight Rises" premiere in Paris.

As previously reported, a 24-year-old man named James Holmes was arrested after opening fire inside a "Dark Knight Rises" screening at an Aurora, Co. theater on Friday, July 20 morning, killing 12 and injuring at least 38 others. "Warner Bros. is deeply saddened to learn about this shocking incident," the studio behind the movie said in a statement. "We extend our sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims at this tragic time."

"Gangster Squad" is an upcoming violence-laden movie starring Sean Penn as Los Angeles mobster Mickey Cohen. Gun-heavy scenes were found in the pic's trailer, including a scene where several shooters fire into a movie theater audience as chaos and panic ensue. It is a coincidence but would be a very sensitive issue. WB makes no comment whether the scene will be edited out of the film.

Meanwhile, a press conference featuring "Dark Knight Rises" stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Morgan Freeman and director Christopher Nolan was called off following the shooting. The red carpet premiere scheduled to take place Friday night in Paris has also been canceled.
