The actor laughed off the incident where as many as 550 cardboard cutouts of him went missing from Cumberland Farms.

AceShowbiz - David Hasselhoff's life-size cutouts have been stolen at amazing 550 units from Cumberland Farms. According to AP, there are only 20 units left intact out there in the New England-based convenience stores.
In the ad, the actor is advertising the stores' iced coffee. Speaking to the city's news station WHDH7, Hasselhoff was worried at first before finding out that he was not the accused one. "The first thing I thought of was that I was in trouble and then I thought, 'Oh good they're not accusing me of stealing, they're accusing people of stealing me'," he said.
And he took it as compliment. "It's cool and it kind of humbles me that people are still following David Hasselhoff after all these years," the former "Baywatch" actor said. He even encouraged the thieves to get some more. "I just hope nobody gets in trouble but I encourage everybody to go out and see what they can do about stealing a Hoff but please have a cup of coffee while doing it," he joked.
Cumberland Farms in Wallingford, Connecticut have guarded their signs tightly since the report came out.
