Explaining that his follow-up project after 'Struck by Lightning' will be a far cry from his previous high school comedy films, Colfer reveals that the new movie is expected to be shot this winter.

AceShowbiz - Fresh off his big screen stint in "Struck by Lightning", Chris Colfer already plans a new movie project. The Kurt Hummel of "Glee" is preparing a movie which is going to be set in an "insane asylum in the 1930s." A far cry from his previous high school comedy movies, this new one is said to be a lot grittier.

"Yeah, it's a little different than 'The Land of Stories' and 'Struck by Lightning'," the Golden Globe winner tells MTV News about his untitled project in which he will also serve as the scribe. "Just a little bit [different] but, yeah..."

Elaborating further about his next move, the 22-year-old actor gushes, "Hopefully we'll shot that this winter or next winter. I'm in the movie as well, and it doesn't matter how old I am." He continues, "There's no rush like there was with 'Struck by Lightning', [where it was like] 'I gotta look young.' This one, there's some room for age."

Colfer also explains that his new film will be nothing like "Glee", but it is in the same vein as Ryan Murphy's other project, "American Horror Story", which will be set in an asylum as well. "I guess, finally, those asylums get their moment in the light!" the Clovis-born thesp enthuses.

The openly gay actor goes on explaining that he's interested to make an asylum-set pic since he always wants to know what exactly happens in that place. "I don't know. I've always liked crazy people or people with issues of some kind," he says. "I don't mean of reality. I mean like the fictitious stuff that's out there and I've always been fascinated by the human mind."

After starring in "Struck by Lightning", Colfer is ready to reprise his role as Kurt in "Glee" season 4.
