A host of overzealous fans of Christopher Nolan's Batman film post curses, sexist slams and death threats against some reviewers who wrote negative opinion on the highly anticipated movie.

AceShowbiz - "The Dark Knight Rises" fans won't get a chance to see the highly anticipated movie until Friday, July 20, but some of them have already united to slam the critics who gave negative early reviews on the Batman film. Plenty of die-hard fans of the Christopher Nolan-directed superhero flick have angrily blasted some reviewers with curses, sexist insults and death threats since they were unhappy with what those critics have written about the film.

Among those who were slammed by the overzealous fanboys was Christy Lemire of The Associated Press. As highlighted by NJ.com, Lemire merely gave "Dark Knight Rises" two stars, noting that the film felt like a "letdown" from an "exceptional, visionary" director like Nolan. The review caused her to receive 495 angry comments, including the one that said, "I hope you die."

On the other hand, Star's reviewer Marshall Fine compared Nolan's third Batman movie to a bad "Transformers" sequel. The negative review soon pulled more than 852 explicit comments from outraged fans. Fine also received tons of slams from fans on his own website that it has to be shut down briefly.

Warner Bros. Pictures actually doesn't allow the media to publish their reviews on "The Dark Knight Rises" until Wednesday, July 18. However, the embargo didn't stop some critics from posting their thoughts about the Caped Crusader film early.

Following the outpouring slams from fans, Rotten Tomatoes, the review-aggregator, was forced to warn fans to stop posting murderous threats against those critics. The site is also forced to remove some links to the reviewers to prevent them from receiving more harsh comments.
