The 'Hurt Locker' actor is in talks to play Steve Roger's trusted partner who can talk to birds in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'.

AceShowbiz - Captain America will likely team up with Falcon in its sequel. The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" actor Anthony Mackie has been courted to star as the superhero persona of Sam Wilson in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier".

In Marvel universe, Falcon is known as one of its famous African-American superheroes. As a partner of Steve Rogers, the Harlem-based character has been involved in various adventures with the Cap. In addition to having an ability to communicate with birds, Falcon gets his superpower from a suit that could make him fly.

While Mackie is still in talks for the coveted part, Variety has confirmed that Sebastian Stan will return to "Captain America 2". He is set to reprise his role as Bucky, a brainwashed assassin known as the Winter Soldier.

To be directed by "Community" helmers Anthony and Joe Russo, the "Captain America" sequel still hasn't unveiled its official plot. Though so, it has been rumored that the film will be based on a respected comic book storyline from the 2000s which followed Bucky as a brainwashed super-assassin.

"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" will be released in the U.S. on April 4, 2014. It will bring back Chris Evans as the titular superhero.
