The daughter of Tom Cruise is crying when her mother rejects her request to buy a Morkie when they stop by a pet store in Manhattan.

AceShowbiz - Suri Cruise couldn't hold back her tears when she was not allowed to get a puppy. The 6-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise fell in love with a white-and-black Yorkshire Terrier/Maltese mix pup in a Manhattan pet store, but her mother Katie Holmes refused to buy the Morkie for her.
Suri looked sad and pouted when she couldn't get what she wanted. She hid her face behind her stuff animals and blanket when making her way to an awaiting car. She was caught on camera crying once she was inside the vehicle and was inconsolable when Katie tried to comfort her.
Following her filing for divorce from Tom last June 28, the former "Dawson's Creek" actress moved out of the home she shared with the actor. She currently lives in a two-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath apartment in the Chelsea Mercantile with her little girl.
Soon after news about their visit to the pet store made its way to the web, a pet shelter organization sent a message to the soon-to-be-divorcee, urging her to adopt a dog from an animal shelter, instead of buying one from a store.
"If you go to a shelter you're going to find beautiful, healthy puppies, even purebreds," rep Devera Lynn told Radar Online. "Not only that you will also be saving a life," the spokerperson continued. "We would love to show Katie the animals we have if she is ready to adopt."
Explaining why they should not purchase a dog from a store, Devera said, "The breeder parents are not kept in conditions that are acceptable to caring for companion animals. They don't get the medical care they need. They are overbred and when the dog is no longer able to breed they either sell them to auctions or kill them."
