The band fronted by Chris Daughtry release their single exclusively on iTunes and all net proceeds from downloads will go to 'We Can Be Heroes' campaign.

AceShowbiz - Chris Daughtry and his band have teamed up with Justice League and DC Entertainment for the "We Can Be Heroes" campaign. DAUGHTRY recorded a song called "Rescue Me" to raise awareness and funds to fight the worst hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa in the past 60 years.

A music video for the single has also been released and it premiered exclusively on E! Online. It shows footage of the band performing the song live and recording in the studio. It is also interlaced with clips of children in Africa.

"You don't need to be a super hero to help make a difference and be part of the greater good," said lead singer Chris. "The people in the Horn of Africa need us and every little bit helps, it's as easy as downloading a song. If you've ever wanted to be super hero - now's your chance."

An acoustic version of the band's single "Rescue Me" was recorded in Los Angeles last month. This version has been released exclusively on iTunes on July 11. All net proceeds from downloads of the single will be donated to the campaign.

"We Can Be Heroes" makes use of the images of the members of the Justice League, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg, in their efforts to raise awareness and funds for three humanitarian aid organizations which are working in Africa.

The organizations Save the Children, International Rescue Committee and Mercy Corps are trying to provide aid to over eight million people who need help in the Horn of Africa. People interested in learning more about the cause and how to help may visit www.WeCanBeHeroes.org.
