Matthew McConaughey Scares Juno Temple With Disturbing Story in 'Killer Joe' Clip
Movie

McConaughey tells a sickening story to Temple about a man who mutilates his genital and sets it on fire after his partner cheats on him.

AceShowbiz - Matthew McConaughey has a horrible story to tell in a new clip for "Killer Joe". Being released via /Film, the snippet shows McConaughey speaking to Juno Temple about a nasty story of a guy who sets his genital on fire after his girlfriend has an affair with someone else.

Temple plays Dottie, the sister of Emile Hirsch's character Chris. When Chris finds himself in debt to a drug lord, he hires a hit man to dispatch his mother, whose $50,000 life insurance policy benefits Dottie. Chris finds Joe Cooper (McConaughey), a creepy, crazy Dallas cop who moonlights as a contract killer.

When Chris can't pay Joe upfront, Joe sets his sight on Dottie as collateral for the job. The contract killer and his hostage develop an unusual bond. Like from a modern-day, twisted fairy tale, "Killer Joe" Cooper becomes the prince to Dottie's Cinderella.

Based on the play by Pulitzer and Tony Award winner Tracy Letts, "Killer Joe" is a garish, proactive black comedy from Academy Award-winning director William Friedkin. The film has been dubbed "a totally twisted deep-friend Texas redneck trailer park murder story."

It has been stealing attention since it was screened during last year's Toronto International Film Festival. Due to its "graphic disturbing content involving violence and sexuality, and a scene of brutality", the movie received an "NC17" rating.

Also lining up in the cast ensemble are Gina Gershon, Thomas Haden Church, Marc Macaulay, Scott A. Martin. The adult movie will make its way out onto the U.S. cinemas on July 27.
