For garnering strong ratings, the family drama series is renewed for a second season while the police procedural show is ordered for a fourth season.

AceShowbiz - TNT has renewed two of its top-rated shows. The network announced on Friday, June 29 that it would bring back "Dallas" for a second season and "Rizzoli & Isles" for a fourth season. Both series will return in 2013 with 15 new episodes each.
" 'Dallas' has been a success for us on every level: pitch-perfect writing, smart directing and buzz-worthy performances by a new generation of stars and their iconic counterparts," said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT.
Kicking off with a two-hour premiere on June 13, the family drama series posted the highest scripted series premiere on all cable channel for the year-to-date. It continues showing steady performance and has averaged 6.9 million viewers so far.
On crime drama show "Rizzoli & Isles", Wright commented, "Anchoring a new night in its third season, 'Rizzoli & Isles' has proven itself to be a strong and enduring hit, not only in terms of the great storylines and performances, but also in terms of the show's stellar ratings."
Moved from Monday to Tuesday night, the Angie Harmon starrer ranked as summer's No. 1 returning scripted series on basic cable when it premiered the third season earlier this June. The show has averaged 7.1 million viewers for its current season.
