Video: Channing Tatum Does 'Creepy' Impersonation of Matthew McConaughey
Celebrity

When visiting David Letterman, the stripper-turned-actor greets the host and audience in the house in his best McConaughey Southern drawl.

AceShowbiz - Channing Tatum showed off his skills, other than acting and stripping, when visiting "Late Show with David Letterman" recently. The "Magic Mike" hunk impersonated his co-star Matthew McConaughey and busted out his best Southern drawl, but his impersonation was cut short by David Letterman because "it's getting creepy."

When the host asked Tatum to imitate the Texas-born actor, the former stripper was initially reluctant but then gave in to the request. "All right, all right, all right," he said before talking in McConaughey's distinctive drawl. "I see a lot of lovely ladies in the house tonight. I like that. How you doing, Mr Letterman, you doing all right today?"

"I'm doing just fine," Letterman answered with a laugh before putting a stop to the stunt.

In addition to imitating McConaughey's accent, Tatum shared his experience of exploring the forest in Guyana, South America with two natives. "We decided to go with two indians out into the middle of the rainforest and see how long we could last," he said.

He thought he knew what he was in for, but the trip was not what he expected. "You think it's going to be quiet and beautiful because you're so far out in the middle of nowhere, but it's the loudest place. It's louder than New York," he gushed. "You have howler monkeys that are like 'AHH' ...."

"The biggest threat was actually falling trees," he added. "But more scary was knowing that a snake could be curled up under your hammock. ... We thought we saw an anaconda, but it just went under (the brush)." Another thrilling experience was crossing a river which had crocodiles in it.

Regardless, he enjoyed it very much. "You can't actually see the sky because it's a triple canopy rainforest," he said. "Our next trip is gonna go to the Himalayas (India)."
